Hong Kong

A city unlike any other, Hong Kong is a great place to start or finish the trip because of its flight availability, among other things. The gigantic city offers towering skyscrapers that form an impressive concrete jungle you simply won’t find elsewhere. The architecture of the city creates a fascinating transition from high-rise buildings to low level markets and bustling busy streets. There’s something to discover around every corner in this dynamic place. Hong Kong has something for everyone, from massive malls to traditional temples and even a Disneyland, you’ll be spoilt for choice when you’re wandering the streets.

Laos

Laos is an unexpected treasure many stumble upon when travelling around Asia for 3 months or more. The landlocked country has the famous Mekong River running through it and boat trips lasting days can be taken to explore it. There’s also plenty of Buddhist temples and sites to appreciate, like the Wat Xieng Thong and Pha That Luang. It’s an intriguing way to expand your knowledge, as a great majority of the Laos people are Buddhist. Temples play an important role in the every day life of residents there.

Although learning about the culture is fun, when you’re finished there’s also a small riverside town called Vang Vieng that is famous for welcoming tourists with an exciting nightlife. With everything from a lively Irish bar to a relaxing beach bar, there’s a spot that’ll become a local for every traveller in Vang Vieng.

Vietnam

Vietnam offers plenty of weird and wonderful things to try if you’re travelling around Asia for 3 months. The best thing about Vietnam is the majority of cities can be explored by riding a scooter and embracing the glorious countryside. Ho Chi Minh City (previously known as Saigon) is a historical city featuring many museums; in particular the War Remnants Museum is popular with tourists.

The city is full of lively evenings and entertainment to enjoy, and you can even go and venture off to Mui Ne and go sand boarding on the dunes. There’s also plenty of tropical beaches to visit such as the widely recommended white beaches of Nha Trang, where you can relax in one of the most tranquil places imaginable or take part in their watersport activities - including snorkelling in their magnificent coral reefs.

The world renowned city of Bangkok makes this beautiful country a place full of energy, excitement and adventure. But aside from the one-of-a-kind city of Bangkok, Thailand offers an experience hard to find elsewhere. The picturesque beaches in the south make for top tourist destinations with beach parties and festivals occurring regularly, with the hotspot of Phuket being one of the many favourites. If you’re looking to discover more of the incredible culture, then the rest of the country offers famous temples including The Golden Triangle, the chance to meet elephants at sanctuaries and the possibility of island hopping. Cambodia is often regarded as similar experience to Thailand but on a smaller scale, which might tempt some individuals looking for undiscovered treasures to explore. Cambodia is a country known for its ancient temples that are no longer in use, but still breathtakingly beautiful for those who want to discover more. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday then look no further than Cambodia. Though it may not be a typical beach holiday destination, on Cambodia’s southern coastline you’ll find a flurry of outstanding beaches on the coast of Koh Rong Sanloem which offers quiet beaches as well as party islands for those looking for a different experience. It’s also a great place to go snorkelling or diving, with crystal clear oceans and trained professionals available to give you the experience of a lifetime.
